As a district council we are incredibly proud of our Operations team. They are our ambassadors, out on the streets of our towns and villages every day throughout the year; delivering services that improve everyone’s quality of life. We have a highly professional and well performing team, with a strong reputation for delivery. 

We need someone to lead this outstanding team into the next phase of service delivery and work with us and the rest of the senior management team as we continue to improve and shape public services for our residents and businesses.

We are currently developing our new Corporate Strategy that will set out our vision and plans for the next four years and we’ve recently had a Corporate Peer Challenge that has recognised our strengths and made some great recommendations for how we can build on them for the future. We are ready to move forward, and this brings some really exciting opportunities for this role as you shape what the future looks like for the team and delivering our strategy for the district.

We have a strong focus on delivery through partnership and are part of a number of strong partnerships across Essex.  We are working with waste collection authorities and the disposal authority to think strategically about how we deal with waste across the county. There is also a strong collaboration with our near neighbours in the north of the county on a much wider basis, working ever closer to improve services for all of our residents while we build better financial resilience in all our organisations.

At Braintree our senior management team truly are a team, we’ve faced a lot of challenges over the last few years and we’ve only been able to do that with the support of each other. We work collaboratively across our respective services, focused on outcomes. We are ambitious and we help one another achieve goals, but we also have fun and pull together to get through the tougher times.
